Tennessee driver dies after crashing with semi-truck

Areas of road construction can be high-risk for motor vehicle accidents. A fatal accident in Tennessee proved that last week. In Jefferson County, a 22-year-old man died after a collision with a semi-truck. The accident occurred on I-40 and involved an area of road construction and slowed vehicles. Authorities are still evaluating the details of the fatal crash.

Tennessee State Highway Patrol reports the crash involved two vehicles, which were driving through a TDOT construction zone. When the semi-truck slowed in the construction zone, the man driving behind the truck was reportedly unable to stop in time and collided with the back of the trailer. Is a negligent party liable for the death of the young man?

The facts about this truck-related accident are still somewhat unclear, at least to the public. One area of investigation into the Tennessee wreck would be to ensure that the semi-truck’s brake lights were working. Also, could the construction area have been marked to better warn drivers to slow down? These are just some of the matters that officials will address to determine who might have been at-fault in this incident.

Fatal motor vehicle accidents produce a lot of questions. But the death of an individual in a car accident also brings about pain and suffering for friends and family of the victim, as well as expenses related to medical bills and funeral arrangements. A wrongful death attorney is a guide who can ask the appropriate, necessary questions about circumstances surrounding a fatal crash and can fight to help families get the compensation that they deserve following their loss.

Tennessee coach learns a lesson: don?t drink and drive

It is easy for concentration to slip when you are driving. It only requires a minor distraction to draw someone’s eyes from the road for a moment. The chances of this happening are even higher when a driver is intoxicated.

An assistant football coach for Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University learned through experience that drunk driving is dangerous. He is fortunate to not have been injured or to injure someone else, but his case following drunk driving crashes still underscores the real risk of impaired drivers.

In February, authorities responded to a scene where a couple of vehicles had been struck by another driver, a driver who fled the area. That driver turned out to be the up-and-coming, newly-appointed assistant football coach for Vanderbilt. He was under the influence of alcohol when he caused the car accidents and fled.

The driver pleaded guilty to the charges, resulting in a $350 fine, loss of his license for one year and 24 hours of community service. He is also required to participate in an alcohol safety course. He has also at least temporarily lost his gig as assistant coach.

The legal limit in Tennessee for blood-alcohol when driving is 0.08 percent. If a driver is over this limit, he endangers not only himself but unsuspecting motorists and pedestrians who deserve to feel safe in their community. If you or a loved one is affected by a drunk driving accident, you may wish to seek compensation for the damage done, in order to protect yourself and to cover the costs resulting from the crash.

Icy conditions in Tennessee lead to high number of car accidents

The winter weather has made the already busy highways of Tennessee almost treacherous for travelers. Driving in inclement weather can be difficult, and it only takes hitting one small patch of black ice for an accident to happen. The severity of recent conditions, however, means that the number of car accidents has spiked dramatically.

The cold and icy weather, which has affected roads across central Tennessee, created such hazardous conditions that a single morning saw 276 reports of vehicle crashes in the vicinity of Nashville. Fortunately, none of the accidents appears to have been fatal, although 35 resulted in reported injuries.

The icy conditions caused problems on all area interstates, with sections of many roads being closed. Such was the case on southbound Interstate 65. Back roads were also considered to be unsafe to travel through. Drivers in some areas, such as Davidson County, were urged by police to stay at home to avoid further accidents. However, many of the drivers were caught in the unfavorable conditions during their morning commute.

Given the sheer number of accidents in Tennessee on just one winter morning, it is extremely fortunate that no critical injuries or deaths were reported. Nevertheless, any injuries sustained in a car crash can be debilitating and costly. They can lead to time taken off work, hefty medical bills and even lifetime disabilities. Insurance claims do not always go as smoothly as one might hope. For this reason, it is important to ensure that any incident involving yourself or a loved one is investigated fully. This will allow you to offer a clear picture of the circumstances if you make a compensation claim, providing you the best chance of reaching a fair resolution.

Motorcycle rider killed in Murfreesboro collision

Motorcycles offer a great way to get outside, enjoy the weather and experience the open road. Unfortunately, motorcyclists are often at greater risk than other motorists on the road, and even the best precautions are not always enough to guard against broken bones or even death. If a collision with another vehicle occurs in a motorcycle accident, police investigations can help determine if negligence or other factors were involved.

A Rutherford County accident has left a motorcyclist dead. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old rider of the motorcycle struck the rear of a vehicle, sending the motorcycle a distance of around 200 feet from the impact. The motorcycle was also reported to be burned at the conclusion of the accident.

It only takes a moment for a serious or fatal accident to happen, and despite efforts in many states to increase motorcycle awareness, many drivers still do not see or recognize motorcyclists on the road. Often a driver will suddenly turn out or pull into a lane in front of an unsuspecting motorcycle operator. Any sudden adjustments that motorcyclists must make to attempt to avoid a crash could spell disaster.

Motorcycle crashes can result in steep medical bills, as well as funeral expenses and other costs to friends or family of deceased riders. In some cases, Tennessee residents are entitled to compensation to help them with these expenses, including wrongful death settlements. Understanding the different situations surrounding each unique circumstance can help riders and their families stay protected, even after a crash.

Accident in Robertson County leaves 2 dead

Each year in Tennessee, drivers and passengers of motor vehicles are involved in serious and sometimes fatal accidents. Anytime a death results from a collision, there is a possibility for a wrongful death suit. These suits attempt to assign blame for a person’s death in order to distribute financial compensation to the family of the victim. There are several factors that can be involved in a collision, including drugs and alcohol, negligence, or faulty mechanisms in a vehicle. These collisions can become even more deadly when they involve large vehicles like buses or tractor-trailers.

A Robertson County accident involving two vehicles has resulted in the deaths of two people. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that the driver and passenger of a Chevy Impala suffered fatal injuries after the driver veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a semi-truck hauling concrete. The passenger in the Impala was not wearing his seat belt and died at the accident site. In addition, the driver of the truck suffered injuries and was rushed to NorthCrest Medical Center to receive medical attention.

The collision occurred along Highway 49 in Springfield during the early morning hours. Investigators report the presence of drugs and alcohol at the scene, though it is not known whether these played a role in the accident.

A death in an automobile accident can be devastating for all parties involved. In addition to the emotional pain and suffering associated with the loss, there are also expenses to worry about, such as funeral costs and lost wages. Understanding the cause of an accident along with specific Tennessee laws can help people involved determine an appropriate course of action.

Truck accident on Tennessee interstate results in fatality

When truck accidents occur, the effects can be widespread and severe. Such accidents can be caused by any number of situations, from driver fatigue to distractions, to intoxication. Whatever the cause, the damage is often extensive. One such truck accident occurred recently in Tennessee.

The incident closed both lanes of traffic for a time. It occurred near exit 74A on Interstate 81, just outside Bristol. The crash involved two vehicles, one of which was reported to be a tractor-trailer. This accident resulted in the closure of that section of the interstate while emergency services attended the scene.

Of the individuals involved in the crash, one died, while two sustained very serious injuries. Members of Bristol Fire Rescue and Bristol Police Department were first to attend, while officers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol arrived later.

As was the case with this accident in Tennessee, collisions involving large vehicles often result in fatalities. Even without such dire consequences, the damage caused can be immense. If you are involved in a truck accident, you have the right to protect yourself and to seek compensation.

In turn, truck companies are required to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition. They are also obliged to monitor its drivers and make sure that they are well rested and responsible. This is why determining causation is so important after a truck accident. It is also helpful to be aware of state legislation, so you know where you stand and can seek the best possible resolution for your particular case.

Multiple vehicles caught in Knoxville pileup

Whether you are a pedestrian, a passenger or a driver, letting your attention stray even for a moment when you are on the road can result in an accident. The volume of vehicles on the roads, especially at busy times of day, means that you need to be alert and aware at all times. Nevertheless, an automobile accident can happen at any time, and one person’s mistake can create a domino effect with repercussions for anyone else in the vicinity.

Knoxville’s Interstate 75 saw a large-scale accident involving half a dozen vehicles. The pileup resulted in the closure of two lanes of the road. Half of the vehicles involved were big trucks, a fact that may have contributed to the scale of the accident, as the sheer size of such vehicles results in much greater damage during a crash.

On some level, the drivers and passengers involved in the accident were fortunate. There were no fatalities, and only one individual was taken into medical care, having sustained minor injuries. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with such accidents, and this crash could easily have resulted in significant injuries.

When people are injured as a result of a car accident, worries about broken bones and brain trauma often supersede financial concerns initially. However, the cost of dealing with medical bills and any damage to vehicles can soon mount up.

Residents of Tennessee may find it helpful to familiarize themselves with the state’s legislation surrounding such accidents. This will enable them to understand what they are entitled to in the event of an automobile-related injury. Such matters should be considered carefully so that all parties receive the care and compensation that they deserve.

Widespread blackouts caused from alleged drunk driving accident

With so many vehicles on the roads, it is hardly surprising that occasionally accidents occur. These can be brought on by distractions, sleepiness, illness or the influence of substances such as narcotics and alcohol. It is not always easy to determine the cause of an accident, as often several factors are involved. Unfortunately, the results of these brief slips of judgment can cause widespread damage, as happened with one automobile accident recently in Tennessee.

A 57-year-old man was found driving around Humboldt early one morning after law enforcement officials had been called out to investigate a downed power pole. The front of his car was heavily damaged and, as a result, he was arrested on suspicion of knocking over the pole.

The driver is now facing charges related to drunk driving and possession of marijuana and cocaine. He has also been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. In addition, the damage to the power pole resulted in power outages to large areas of the city. The outages lasted until the Humboldt Utility Department was able to remedy the problem that afternoon.

Fortunately, no one was harmed in this accident. Nevertheless, any car crash is a traumatic experience for all involved. Whether a collision takes place as a result of simple human error, or because of a drunk driver’s actions, victims are entitled to seek compensation for their injuries. Residents of Tennessee are advised to make themselves aware of their rights, and ensure that any such accidents are investigated fully in order to find the best possible support for all affected.

5 semi trucks involved in accident on icy interstate

Semi trucks are just as common on the roads of Tennessee as they are throughout the country. It is easy to take them for granted, and many of us drive alongside them without ever questioning their drivers or the safety and performance of the vehicles. However, it only takes a moment for a semi truck accident to occur, and many fatal accidents in the U.S. involve these large vehicles.

Trucks travel in every state and navigate across the nation’s roadways daily. In Kentucky, a pileup accident involving five semi-trailers has resulted in heavy damage to the trucks as well as injuries to the drivers. Four semi trucks collided, blocking the interstate to oncoming traffic around 5:30 in the morning. A fifth truck approached the wreck and was unable to stop. The driver of that truck swerved to avoid the pileup, and instead crashed into an entrance ramp just past the initial accident.

Police say icy road conditions primarily caused the accident, though the incident demonstrates the damage large trucks are capable of inflicting. Unfortunately, drivers of these vehicles traveling great distances may be more likely than other drivers to commit an error of judgment or fall asleep at the wheel. Although there are laws in place to prevent it, many trucking companies and their drivers push themselves to work extended hours without a break. In addition, some trucking companies may attempt to cut corners on vehicle maintenance in order to reduce costs and save themselves money.

If you are the victim of an accident involving negligence or carelessness, you may be entitled to financial compensation to help cover vehicle repair and medical bills along with other damages. Understanding your rights and the laws governing vehicle accidents can help you find the best resolution for your specific situation.

Motorcyclist killed after colliding with 2 cars in Fayetteville

Motorcycles provide an exciting and enjoyable way to experience the road. Whether it’s a trip out of town, a drive through the city or a casual ride with friends, there’s nothing else like it. However, due to the relative lack of protection available to motorcycle riders, they are at greater risk of serious injury or death than people riding in other vehicles. Each year, motorcycle accident injuries occur in Tennessee, many of which lead to the hospitalization of the riders or even death.

In Fayetteville, a man suffered fatal injuries while riding his motorcycle. Witnesses say the man collided with the rear of a vehicle that stopped in order to turn left. The rider was thrown from his motorcycle into another lane, where a second vehicle struck him. The accident remains under investigation.

Although this accident is still under investigation, many motorcycle accidents are the result of other drivers’ negligence. Often, they are avoidable mistakes. Drivers often forget to check carefully for motorcyclists, or they drive too close to the rider without considering the potential harm an impact could cause. Other drivers may fail to signal for an upcoming turn or may stop suddenly. Accidents involving motorcyclists commonly result in injuries to the head, neck and back, which can be debilitating and cause expensive medical bills.

If you or someone you know has been in a motorcycle accident that was caused by careless or negligent driving, you need to understand your options and the legal ramifications for all parties involved. Gaining legal knowledge is the first step toward achieving a suitable outcome to your situation.
